Swiss Re Building, known as the “Gherkin”

This iconic 40-floor building, known as “The Gherkin” during its construction, rises 591ft into the London skyline. We constructed the sub structures which included the placement of in excess of 2000 cubic metres of concrete in a single pour in the main core base pilecap. This contract also included placing concrete on metal decking in the superstructure involving the use of special concrete mixes to allow concrete to be pumped to the upper storeys.
