Coventry Hospital, West Midlands

Our contract was to construct the structural concrete frame and substructures on the site of the old Walsgrave Hospital. The new 1250 bed University hospital is a state of the art modern Hospital bringing together all of the A & E, clinical care and wards under one roof. We carried out the construction of the substructures, drainage including a major reinforced concrete service corridor running under the full length of the new hospital, piled foundations, major and minor cores were slipformed, ahead of the main suspended reinforced concrete foors. The contract also included the construction of the massivepiled foundations linear accelerator bunkers, for the X-ray and MRI scanners.
