Timber – Policy

As part of our ongoing commitment to environmental protection P.C Harrington Contractors Limited will avoid procurement of timber from the following sources:

  1. Wood harvested from forest areas where traditional or civil rights are violated;
  2. Wood harvested from non-certified forest areas having high conservation values which are threatened;
  3. Wood harvested from genetically modified trees;
  4. Illegally harvested wood;
  5. Natural forest that has been converted to plantations or non-forest use.

To achieve this P.C Harrington Contractors Limited will endeavour to procure timber only from certified schemes with preference given to FSC & PEFC Certified Wood.

As a FSC & PEFC Chain of Custody certified organisation, P.C. Harrington Contractors Limited are committed to ongoing compliance with the standards set for both FSC & PEFC Chain of Custody accreditation.
